Who we are

MKA Associates ("we", "us") is a legal recruitment firm specialising in the corporate finance market. MKA Associates is a trading name of MKA Corporate Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 17352285) with its registered office at 30 Church Street, Eccles, Manchester M30 0DF. For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, MKA Corporate Limited is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. The information we hold

Candidates

If we represent you, or you contact us about a possible move, we may hold: your name and contact details; your CV, career history, qualifications and admission details; deal sheets and practice information you provide; our notes of conversations with you; your preferences about firms, roles and remuneration; and, with your consent, references. We do not ask for, and do not wish to receive, special category data unless you choose to share it and it is relevant to your search.

Clients

If you instruct us, we hold the business contact details of the people involved in a mandate, the agreed brief and terms, and correspondence relating to the search.

Website visitors

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party resources. If you use the contact form, we receive only what you type into it: your message is delivered to us by our email service provider, and an automatic acknowledgement is sent to the email address you give. Our hosting and email providers may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security purposes, including protecting the form against automated abuse.

How we use it, and our lawful bases

• Representing candidates and running searches — our legitimate interests in providing recruitment services, and taking steps at your request before a contract (Article 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).
• Introducing a candidate to a client — only ever with the candidate's explicit consent, given for each introduction (Article 6(1)(a)). A CV never moves without it.
• Responding to enquiries — our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us.
• Legal obligations — where recruitment legislation or other law requires us to hold or disclose information (Article 6(1)(c)).

Who we share it with

Candidate information is shared with prospective employers only with the candidate's consent, introduction by introduction. Beyond that, information is shared only with service providers who support the running of the firm (such as email and hosting providers) under appropriate safeguards, or where the law requires it. We never sell personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep candidate information only while our relationship is live. If we have had no meaningful contact with you for three years, we delete your information or contact you to ask whether you wish to remain known to us. Client mandate records are kept for the period required by recruitment legislation and our contractual obligations. You may ask us to delete your information at any time (see your rights, below).

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to: access the information we hold about you; have it corrected; have it erased; restrict or object to how it is used; receive it in a portable form; and withdraw any consent you have given, at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security

Information is held on access-controlled systems, shared strictly on a need-to-know basis, and never stored on paper files that leave our control. Given the sensitivity of confidential moves in a small market, we treat data security and professional discretion as the same obligation.

A note on recruitment fraud

We will never ask candidates for payment, bank details or identity documents by unsolicited email, and we do not make offers of employment on behalf of clients without a full interview process. If you receive a suspicious message claiming to come from MKA Associates, please contact us before responding to it.
